I am homeless and have an appointment with the VA in Hampton, Virginia tomorrow at noon to get me into DOM housing. I just need a place to stay for tonight so I can make my appointment tomorrow rested and clean. How did it get to this point? Recovering alcoholic and lived in a Veteran’s Village which was a huge support and helped me stay sober. I am committed to staying sober but they closed down due to lack of funding. So now I’m looking to get into another community like that but in transition until tomorrow. Shelters have lots of drugs and violence. I’d rather sleep on the street until tomorrow than expose myself to that.
