LaShanda W (Texas):
When I moved into this house, I was working for the Department of Veterans Affairs. They dismissed me after working their for 5 years. Well, I finally ran out of money to survive. Additionally, I lost my dad in February, my brother-n-law in February, my brother in August, and my precious nephew in April. So from April 2018 until today, I have been making it while losing loved ones. I know that losing loved ones isn’t a reason for financial hardship but I just wanted to share that. I have cut back on eating a lot and eating left overs. Honestly, not having a job caused me to get to this point. Most of my utilities have been disconnected at least once with the exception of the TXU. My water was disconnected, my cable – well, my water more than once and now my electricity is due to being shut off.
