No Power No Water

Brian S (Georgia):

We have no income and we’re out of savings but within the next 2-3 weeks our water and electricity will be cut off and our mortgage will be past due. We get food stamps but that doesn’t cover the non-edible items like toilet paper and soap. We have been and are still trying to sell anything and every thing that we possess and don’t have to have to try to come up with as much money as we can to cover things.

After my service I was a steel worker for over 21 years and it caused significant damage to my wrists, lower back, and neck. My neck was bad enough that I have already had 1 neck surgery and may be looking at another one. I am 100% disabled and am currently fighting and have been for a few years for SSDI. My wife quit her job at the end of 2016 because my condition was getting worse and I needed and still need so much of her help. Even though I need my wife’s help with the basic day to day living and to take care of our 4 children, she is trying to find a job but she tore her Achilles heal tendon and is still trying to heal from that. Once she is healed from that she is going to start working and I have a SSDI hearing in November.
