Low Back Injury Stops Everything

Jason N (Florida):

I had a service connected injury to my back that progressively got worse with time. In February 2019 I went completely immobile from the waist down and had to have emergency spine surgery and then had complications afterwards. My fiance had to go on FMLA/USERRA unpaid leave in order to care for me and our children. The first two months we were able to receive assistance from WWP for some bills but are now into our 4th month without her income and have fallen behind 2 months again and have shut off notices. Our property manager has told us she will seek eviction and have received notice that our car is in danger of being repossessed. There have been nights when we went to sleep without eating because of the lack of food. If we are able to get the requested assistance then once my fiance returns to work, we will be caught up on bills and be right back on track.
