Just Breathe

As shared by Cherryl D:

I am a single, disabled Veteran with three small children. Raymond is eight years old, Serenity is seven years old and McKenzyie is eight months old. I spend twenty four hours a day with my children. I am the only parent in their lives and want to be sure I give enough love to make up for a missing parent. I struggle with the enormous task of being a single parent and my PTSD. Coupled with numerous behavioral incidents involving mostly Raymond, both at school at home, makes being able to concentrate on myself emotionally an impossible task. I would like to work in order to supplement the little I receive to support my family from my VA disability. However not being able to afford daycare and worrying about the older children’s behavior stops me from moving forward. I have managed to complete my Associate’s Degree in Medical Office Administration, over the last three years while being home with the kids. I need a break from my children along with help dealing with their behavior issues. I need space to take a breathe.

Note from Crusaders:

We will be trying to help Cherryl get some food for her kids and herself. We will try to get her in with the VA for therapy. We are also looking at a place that provides child care on a sliding scale so she can work, like she wants. Please donate or share Cherryl’s story on your social media platforms.
