2 Veterans Move and All Goes Wrong

Hannah K (Ohio):

My husband and I are both disabled veterans. We are currently moving across country from Washington State to Ohio where we own a home. Due to multiple things going wrong with our trip we are now unable to pay our mortgage and other bills. While driving both of our cars and the trailer that holds all of our belongings broke down. We fixed one of our vehicles and attempted to fix the other but were unable to – the trailer we had to leave in Washington state because there was no way we could afford to bring it with us since we had used our savings to purchase the trailer and fix it up. We are hoping to get financial help in order to catch up on bills as well as go back to Washington State to get our belongings. Everything that could have gone wrong with moving across the country went wrong. Bills are not normally an issue for us to pay on time however, when the vehicles broke down and we had to leave our trailer behind things became unmanageable. We are currently living with my mother-in-law until we can move into our home (it is currently occupied by tenants) in late September.
